This year's Men of Boston Cook for Women's Health proved to be the most successful in its 14 year history. Held on September 22, 2011 under the Gala Tent at 637 Washington St, the 14th Men of Boston featured a fantastic lineup of Celebrity Chefs and Boston-area restaurants. We are also grateful for the support we received from numerous enthusiastic Sponsors and our many guests that came out to show their support.
Due to Boston's continual support of the Healthcare industry and a committment to women's health in Dorchester, even amidst the current economic situation, Men of Boston Cook for Women's Health was able to meet goals to support Codman Square Health Center's women's healthcare programs. In addition donations will be used to help fund the new women's health facilities in our Capital Expansion Project that will house our new digital mammography machine. This new expansion will enable us to move from 1,900 mammograms a year to over 2,500.
The Boston-wide support and excitement for Men of Boston can be seen through some of the many press features across the city: Boston.com, Boston.com Local, Boston Herald, the Beacon Hill Times, and the Dorchester Reporter. Additionally BizBash named Men of Boston Cook for Women's Health on Boston's Top 100 Events list.
Since 1995, Men of Boston Cook for Women’s Health has raised crucial funds to combat women’s health disparities in issues such as breast cancer, diabetes, heart disease, and HIV/AIDS for over 20,000 women in Dorchester. One hundred dollars of every ticket that was sold went directly to supporting women’s health programs, such as funding the cost of a mammogram, sponsoring prenatal women’s groups or supporting our innovative healthy weight initiatives for women, including the Fruit & Veggie Rx Program.
